Hola todas!
How in the world can this change really be over already!?¿ I dont even get it!!! This change was definitely the fastest I think! and one of the CRAZIEST, and only my 4th one! haha Chile has MUCH in store for me! haha
I just want to start by saying we found 3 SUPER AWESOME new investigators this week! One had a stroke, one is from croatia, and one looks like a Hiatt (particularly Uncle Cliffs family)! They all live in the same little area and we are teaching them together! We found them one day when we were walking past and the one in the wheelchair yells out in English "Hey. I dont wanna talk about God, Im athiest, but I need to practice my english!" So we said OK! haha and we entered and started talking with her when the two others showed up. and after getting to know them a little they said (back to spanish) "well are you going to share the word¿" haha So we sat on their porch with them and shared a little with them and BOOM! They were like "wow, and where is he church at?" No joke, they were sure they wanted to go to church! It was so cool! and then one said "I strongly believe that Jesus is our savior, and I see your church is called the Church of jesus Christ... I think this might be my path." NO JOKE!!! One of the coolest things in the world! So we are teaching them now and its awesome!
We also started an english class, but I was gone on interchanges the first day, but Elder Despain said it went really well! So that should be good! Also, we brought another investigator, a youth who likes to play fútbol, so we got to play with the jovenes, and that was a blast! We also played with the ward this week! AWESOMENESS! haha and the other missionaries had 3 baptisms this last sunday, so that was good! haha
Thats pretty much all that happened this week. But it was a reat way to end the change! Oh, and we found out our next change information, and I was really surprised! I thought FOR SURE I was staying here with Elder Despain! But we went with the zone leaders to get the change information and WHAT IN THE WORLD... I am leaving Concón after 6 weeks. Friday in the night I was actually really hoping to get a call from president so that I can train a newby, and that call....never came. Oh well, maybe next time right? Well actually my call came sunday night from President. "Elder Marvin, I am calling to inform you of your change. I have thought long and hard and I feel that you will do very well working in the mission office as our financiero (finance secretary)." OH MY HECK!?!¿!?! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO! Remember when I said the oficinistas live in a SUPER nice pension and everything from when I broke my thumb... yup thats going to be MY HOME!!! HAHAHA ya, I am pretty excited to work in the office and do all that fun stuff! Its going to be great! haha The only downside, I hear its VERY easy to gain weight, so I gotta find a way around that! haha But I am very excited for that, and I think (not completely sure) that I will be here for when the new president arrives! (july 1st) But we will see! I am pretty stoked!
So thats my excitement, I hope you all have a great week and are warming up, we are getting colder, but still have the hot afternoon! haha but thats life! Loves to all!

week 5 chnge 4
Wow, I really cant believe that we are starting the last week of this change! I dont know where the time goes! Although it was a little bit slower week, our investigators that we have found are weeding out and we are continually trying to find new ones but thats just coming along at its own speed.
On the plus side, a lady that I contacted that lives in the other side of Concón got a baptismal date to work for! That was pretty cool! Other than that we lost 4 of our fechas that we had (of 7) and so we are really trying to help the 3 others to progress, but they have their own stories.
First of all, the awesome family that we found a week ago, the dad got called on an emergency job to the interior and so we cant teach him until april. His son though we are still working with, and we should be going to play fútbol with the youth tomorrow with him! I am pretty excited for that! although, they will surely just destroy me! haha The other girl we have with fecha doesnt like to go into big groups, and so attending church is a challenge! But thats how it goes.
The other two missionaries have 3 baptisms lined up for this next sunday, and we are going to start "clases de ingles" this wednesday! I am pretty excited but we gotta get the word out and about so that we can hopefully have a few people interested and come! We have heard from a lot of people that they would love to go and the day and time works, so hopefully we have some success with that!
Thats how the work goes though, although I do have one cool story from this week. So while contacting some houses, I saw a kid with a babolat tennis racquet and so we HAD to talk with them! haha and we talked for a minute and actually found 3 really good jovenes (youth) and we even had a return cita with one of them. His name is Emilio, and he is 12, but is SUPER smart! So we started teaching him the next day and holy wow! he was like leading the lesson! it was really cool! Then to top it all opff his dad comes downstairs and we ask him about his work and he is like (in english) "you are not giong to believe me but I lived in new york when I was 25 and I am the record producer for The Ramones." WHAT!?!?! hahah That was a WAY COOL FIND!!!!! So ya, im pretty much awesome, I know! haha but it was pretty cool!
Then this morning we went and did sand boarding at the dunes here in Concón. Life is pretty good. I love it! Well take care everyone! Loves!

week 4 change 4
Hola mis amigos! Comó estamos¿ =D Everything here is going great and holy wow, this week FLEW by! Probably because of all the different htings we did!
The week started out pretty normal I was glad to get done with the doctor and know that I dont have to return! YES!!!! I can actually do something fun on a mondy cause I have time, or even just relax! haha Then tuesday was like the best day thta Elder Despain and I have had together! We were both just having a great time, and the funny thing is we were knocking doors in cuico landia! It was just great cause we both were excited and hving a great time! And we actually had some success with it! Although the funniest was when we knocked a door that had a huge fence and qwe could barely see through it, but a lady came out and Elder Despain ">Hola, can we shake your hand (its pretty rude to turn that down here, they are loving and its kinda a big deal not to saludar someone) and she said "no, gracias" and then we just had a really long silence cause Elder Despain drew a blankand didnt know what to do! The he said "ok..................muy amable (very friendly)......." and then the lady shut the door at the slowest you can possibly close it! hahah Then I burst into laughter! It was pretty funny! Then we got in the RICHEST house I have been in, EVER! They had stuff I couldnt even tihnk of buying! haha But we were teaching an elderly lady we found the other day when the owner of the house, her daughter, came in and she looked at us and in an angry loud voice asked "WHO OPENED THE DOOR!!?¿?¿?!?!?¿" I was sure we were going to get kicked out. Its not like we did anything wrong, but she was a little freaked. Then she calmed down and told us she was going to go shopping, but sat down with us and listened to the lesson and accepted a baptismal fecha!!!!! (date to prepare for) It was SO AWESOME!!!
Then wednesday in the morning we had 2 other pair of missionaries working here cause we are having a hard time finding people, so we just had a lot to work in our sector and we had a lot of success with that! THen after that we had intercambios and Elder Diaz (a different one than the one that lives with us) stayed with me. We had a tn of success too! We talked with a lot of people and actually found two new people who accepted a baptismal date to prepare for! IT was awesome!
The rest of the week was good too, nothing too exciting but still good! The sad thing, we still didnt get anyone to come to church, but they will! We just gotta keep trying!
Then today we went to Quintero for a Zone activity and we played beach volleyball on the beach!!!! RIght by the water it was SO COOL!!!!!! and yes, it is allowed, since our mision litterallly goes to the water front, we just can not get in the water! But it was gorgeous and we had tons of fun!
It was a really good week and I know that we are going to really get things going here if we keep working hard! I am trying to keep my companion excited about working , and through the small things he is really going to get it going and we are going to help lots of people! He just realy doesnt like finding people, but we werent left with anything, so we HAVE TO! haha thats life!
Well I love you all! Its beautiful here! The weather has been funny lately, but its starting to get colder, but still has some ridiculously hot days! Oh well! haha Loves you all!
Les quiero!

ps - Oh and we also had a lesson with this crazy old guy! He would not let us talk and all he wanted to do was cut us and tell us we are spoiled americans cause while he works everyday and makes 12 mil (like $24) we are getting paid by the church to go to different parts of the world and work 2 hours a day! What kind of lies!?!? So we told him how that was wrong and explained how we worked beforehand and he called us liars! CRAZY OLD MAN! Then we were just explaining our families and he said "I dont belive you..." CHUTA, este tipo es loco! haha more "pps" for the blog
pps- We also had a conference this week and it went really well! I even did the purpose up in front of everyone, but thats easy! and I got to talk with Elder Ray, and Elder Vargas, and Elder Dipaz! *spring break* All went super great.... Except for the fact that I had to get a FLU shot! And we all know how much I LOVE shots.... ugh.... 6th Chilean needle I hve had to deal with.... urgh.... hahaha

Week 3 Change 4
Here we go again, and another week is here and gone! Nothing too exciting this week. Sorry to all of you who wanted something a little bit crazy! haha
So this week was an energy DRAINER! haha We did lots of walking. we tried a table of free stuff, we have made list after list of antiguo investigadores, but we are fighting to get into houses. We have also kinda adventured into different areas that we havent gone to before, and we are just talking with tons of people. Most talk with us at the door, but most just say no or sometimes listen and then say they are not interested at all. Yesterday we contaced an elderly lady who was carrying more rocks in her hands than she could hold. Just little rocks, but we asked her what she was going to do with them, and she is going to use them to play with her dogs! haha It was kinda funny! but that was pretty much the highlight of the day! We were trying to think of new ways to contact, and I was tihnking we should offer money if they can answer a question right, is that ad? hahaha Its a little difficult, but we will get some people to teach. We do have a constant 1 investigator! and we have been trying to work with the members, but we know of a total of 5 members that live in our side, and sometimes they arent even in their house. We also have found inactive members who have changed to different religions cause their families dont support them for anything. And of course, since there are tons of tourists, we have sent lots of references, but nothing too strange. Just different parts of Chile. Although, I did call someone in Concepción the other day! That was a surprise! I thought they were living here! haha But thats how the work is going.
Also, the other night the zone leaders decided to start shooting me with their airsoft guns. and well I didnt have one! So finally after like the 6th welt I went on a little rampage and shot them back once, and then tried to just calm down. it was kinda funny, we all laughed! haha That was the craziest night this week.
Then on sunday we had a broadcast stake conference and we listened to julie beck, and Edler Neil Andersen, and Elder L. Tom Perry, and Elder Jay Jensen. They were really ood and surprisingly, only Elder Perry needed a translator! That was cool! They talked about the importance of living worthy of having an eternal family, and also the importance of tithing and the book of mormon! It was great!
Well congratulations to the girls basketball team! 2 years in a row! Keep it up Lady Viks!!! Good to here their taking care of business while Im working in Chile! haha
Thats all I got for this week! Love you all! Chao!
