La Ligua semana 20

Hola a mis seguidores!!!

Another good week here in La Ligua!! We had interviews this week with Presidente Kähnlein and they went quite well. When he asked me how long I had been here he said " I am not sure how much more time God has planned for you here in La Ligua, but keep going strong!!" jaja So we just hope I have at least a few more changes! ;) jeje

Lunes, we had a great night and after not finding a few people in their home, we went by an old investigator to see how they were coming along. As we opened the door, Jorge greeted us with a smile and let us in. I first noticed his couch and chairs were gone. I asked "did you sell everything?" as a joke and he replied "no, Joselyn left. and she took everything." *heart drops 5 stories* whoa. I was not expecting that. As we talked some more he was quite sad. We asked if he had read and he said he didnt have a book of mormon anymore, but he wanted one. So we gave him one and promised him that he could get things in order if he trusted in God. He aggreed and said " I want to change my life. I know that if I would have listened a while back I wouldnt be in this situation. I know that you guys have the truth and I want to start going to church every sunday. I want to completely change. If I can, I want to be baptized. I just can´t continue like this." WHOA!! it was a lesson that just left me completely speechless. Beforehand he wasnt all thatinterested but as we can see, sometimes the Lord sends trials for us to learn if we dont getthe first message to follow him. Although it is rough, we just have to trust in God because He KNOWS how we can be happy. Its amazing! I loved the spirit that we felt there with him.

Miercoles I had interchanges with Elder Lara. We had a good day full of citas (aptmts) and it was awesome! The only sad thing was that Elder Lara was a little sick and didnt feel the greatest! We still very clearly saw the help of our heavenly father in that day! It was awesome!!!

Viernes we had a baptismal interview in the morning with Felipe, and he passed!!! WHOO!!!!! We were excited for him! and then later in the day we had a surprise service of helping a man move his mom from her house. Then interviews with Presidente, and english classes in the night.Great day.

Saturday we had the baptism of Felipe and surprisingly, everything went well and there wasnt any major problems!!! Although, may I ask that ech of you reading this take time for the baptisms when they come! It is SO important that the person getting baptized AND THEIR FAMILY feel the love of the members who will be by their sides!! Its so important to make sure they know that they are not alone!!! So dont just think of it being a drag, give a little love! =D

And lastly on sunday we had the confirmations of Felipe and Isidora. We were quite happy! and to make things all better, Karen brought her sister and nieces with her! So they took up a whole pew and it was awesome! Then the new hermana in our ward helped Jennifer (karen´s sister) to her class, helped with the kids and it was just PERFECT!! That is what the members NEED to do. It made Jennifer feel so good! I loved it!!! Just a miracle day for the missionaries!!! jaja

So that was our calm week here. Cant complain one little bit, I just love the mission life!!! Its just great! ;P

Les quiero MUCHÍSIMO!!!

La Ligua Semana 19

Hola de nuevo!!!

Well to start this week we were ridiculously blessed with an awesome week! We decided that God blesses us SO MUCH here in La Ligua!!! Last monday when we were in the streets and a little unsure where to go, a lady walked up to us and said "hey, hows it going?" and as we talked with her she told us that she was a member of the church and hadnt come in a bout 2 years. Her son, who was 10 years old, had still not been baptized and so we asked why and she said only because they hadnt been coming to church! So we went right on out to her house and shared with them! They are so good! So now we are helping them so that he can be baptized  in a few weeks! jaja And they came to church yesterday! So we are excited for them!!!

Then we passed by Medelis again. It had been a while since we had seen her, about a month, and Karen told us that she saw her the other day in the street and after they talked she told us to visit medelis again. So we did and it was just GOLDEN! She told us how she talked with Karen and thought "she has been sharing for WAY longer, and she still hasnt been baptized." She told us that her "vacations" were over and that it was time for her to give more time to God. It was awesome! I love how sometimes the newest converts can be such a help to those who are unsure!!!

We also had two days where lunch was forgotten and so we just made speghetti for lunch a played a little ping pong in the church. jaja So lunch by ourselves isnt all THAT bad. jaja

We also just found another little boy who has been coming to church and knows EVERYTHING who hadnt been baptized. He attends with his grandma, and so we talked with his parents and they think its great and he is excited and so are we! So things are going great here!!! =D

And well that was the biggest parts of this last week. It wasa goodie and we were able to teach 28 lessons, so we cant complain!!! jaja its going to be a great end of the month as well as a great february!!! Loves!!!

La Ligua semana 17‏

Hola amigos, I am sure you are all just so excited for a fun letter today right? Well sadly, I dont have a lot to tell you. It wasnt our best week for numbers, but we got to see some people that i havent seen in a while, and also, we had a little bit of extra time to catch up on the "z"s. How you may ask, well lets just start with the Christmas conference we had a few weeks ago...

SO after lunch I met with hma Hugie to ask about my foot. ope, a little more info,  hace 5 años (5 years ago) I went on a science club trip, my first one! I was WAY excited and our first day we got to the oregon coast, and we went to the beach. When the wind picked up, we went back to set up for camp. However, on the way back I stepped 6 inches off the trail and felt my foot got stabbed. So I jogged back, took off my shoe, and my science teacher, Mr. Redmond cleaned it all up and took out the sand and shell mix of things. Yes, it was lame, but I had a cool spot where the muscles grew together and made a little lump. Good remind right?

So now 5 years later, Hma Hugie says "thats infected, and quite ugly." and with a pocket knife in hand, she contemplated taking out the infection right there, but decided it was too deep and sadly prefered for a professional to do it with anesthesia (sp?). So we planned that. and those trips happened this week!!! Actually I had a few phone calls from Presidente Kähnlein, and Hma hugie reminding me to get it done the most quickly I could! jaja

So miercoles, wednesday, we went and got some exams and they said you should get that removed. jaja They corrected me and said "there is actually something inside of you, and you are quite lucky not to have had anything worse happen. Normally the body cant carry something for so long without leaving major problems." So I got an "ecotomografía" also known as an ultrasound...on my foot. and yup there was a rather large object, just one, and I talked with the doc. We scheduled things and by some miracle, friday had an opening. So I got some medicine and well it was late, so we stayed in Viña wednesday night and came home on thursday. We also visited Orlando and Nadya and they were quite surprised! It was great!!!

Then Friday morning we had the greatest day ever!!! Karen y Mauricio got married and we were there to support them and everyone was so happy and impressed! Not many people get married here in Chile! Like VERY FEW people! SO it was a big deal! And we were all just so happy for them!!! Then, right after we were on a bus going back to Viña.

We got to viña, I got my results from the ultrasound (8mm object in my foot) and I ran into a familia from Peña Blanca!!! It was great!!! Then we rolled over and I got in with the doctor. As he was preparing for the local  anesthesia (sp?) he asked if I took the pain pill before we went in... lets just say there was some miscomunication, and I didnt do that... and so he told me in clear english "Well, God is with you." and I just had to take it the more painful way! jaja thats one way to learn!! So the needle was tiny, not bad there, but like we know, putting in the pain drugs is VERY painful! I tried to stay still, but just incase, the nurse held my legs down. and of course it has to be about 3 rounds of the pain shots!!! Well, that was the hardest, only about 15 minutes of good hard pain, then he went away, cut and got out this thing and what could it be? Well that mix of things from that day 5 years ago went through my shoe and it actually left a piece of rubber from my shoe in my foot! SUPRISE!!! jaja So he did that and he gave me instructions to take care of it and all was well!! we stayed in Viña that night as well and all is well now! It is recovering very well and quickly now! I just have to walk a little slower now! For a week or so.

So that has been the jist of my week. If I would have waited 10 days more, I would have had the operation on the same day as my first one!!! jaja almost exactly one year later!! jaja But no worries to everyone, all is well! Just a nice little funny story!!! I love you all and I hope that you dont have too many surprises like me! jaja Chao!!!
